Cost of Living: Rural Areas
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment her Department has made of the impact of rurality on the cost of delivering services in rural areas.
Answered by Lucy Rigby
The Government has taken significant steps to support rural areas. We have committed £2.7 billion per year to support sustainable farming and nature’s recovery, over £1.9 billion over four years for gigabit broadband and 4G connectivity, and £2.3 billion of transport funding for local places, beyond our city regions, through the Local Transport Grant.
