The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, with reference to the King's Speech 2026: background briefing notes, published 13 May 2026, whether the levy on short-term commercially let accommodation includes pitches for (a) tents and (b) caravans and campervans.

We are empowering Mayors to introduce a visitor levy on short-term overnight accommodation in their region, to drive economic growth including through support for the local visitor economy. Following the public consultation, decisions on the scope of the levy are still under consideration. The government will respond to the consultation in due course.
