Asked by Martin WrigleyLiberal DemocratMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 8 June 2026UIN 5505

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, if he will bring forward guidance on the creation of family parking bays in council (a) owned and (b) licensed car parks.

Answered by Nesil Caliskan

Council-owned car parks are a matter for local authorities, who are best placed to design parking policies that respond to local needs. The government has no plans to bring forward guidance on the creation of family parking bays in council-owned or privately managed car parks.
