The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what assessment his Department has made on the cost benefit to the NHS of making the Accessible Information Standard mandatory.

Mandatory information standards will be introduced in a staged process. The process will include considering the costs and benefits of making any standard mandatory. There is no decision or timeline yet for issuing a mandatory NHS Accessible Information Standard.
