Asked by Jim ShannonDemocratic Unionist PartyDepartment for Work and PensionsTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 5932

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many sanctions were applied to benefit claimants in the most recent reporting period.

Answered by Dame Diana Johnson

The department regularly publishes monthly Universal Credit Full Service (UCFS) adverse sanction decisions statistics for Great Britain as part of the benefit sanction statistics.

The latest adverse sanction decision statistics to January 2026 are available in section 4 of the latest benefit sanctions publication, with more details available in Table 1.1 of the latest benefit sanction statistics tables.
