The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 26 May 2026 to Question 2275, if she will provide a full breakdown of the up to £43 million funding allocated to green aviation projects by (a) project name, and (b) the specific amount allocated to each project.

On 20 January 2026 the Department for Transport (DfT) announced that up to £43m will be invested over a four- year period on research and development related to delivery of net zero aviation.
From this funding DfT will provide up to £8m to projects through the Zero Emission Flight Demonstrator Round One. A competition for this funding closed on 1 April. The industry led projects successful in that competition will be announced shortly.
In addition, DfT will provide up to £2.5m to the Civil Aviation Authority in the current financial year to support the continued work of their Hydrogen Challenge.
The £43m will be utilised for a four- year programme of funding spanning a range of projects with further details of all funding announced in due course. Given the multi-year nature of the programme final decisions on deployment of funding in later years will be informed by earlier activity.
