Visas: Skilled Workers

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 8 June 2026UIN 6259

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will make an assessment of the number of businesses registered to sell vaping products which are registered to issue skilled worker visas.

Answered by Mike Tapp

Each Sponsor Licence application is subject to extensive suitability and eligibility checks prior to being licenced.

The changes in the Immigration White Paper (July 2025) relating to Skilled Workers, significantly reduced the number of roles eligible to qualify for a visa related to high street retailers. This means that these Sponsor Licence holders are no longer able to bring in overseas workers to work in Vape Stores.

We routinely check the compliance of licensed sponsors and will remove their licences where non-compliance is proven.
