Skilled Workers

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeHome OfficeTabled Answered 4 June 2026UIN 6260

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what discussions she has had with the Migration Advisory Committee on future changes to the Skilled Worker occupation list beyond 2026.

Answered by Mike Tapp

Last year, we commissioned the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) to undertake a review of salary requirements and the temporary shortage list (TSL). The commissioning letter can be seen here: www.gov.uk/government/publications/mac-commissioned-to-review-salary-requirements-and-the-new-tsl

The report on the TSL is due shortly and we will consider that advice in due course.

The MAC is an independent advisory body and regular meetings take place between MAC officials and the Home Office.
