London and North Eastern Railway Company: Football

Asked by Andrew RosindellReform UKDepartment for TransportTabled Answered 1 July 2026UIN 6335

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what the London and North Eastern Railway has paid to sponsor and partner with York City Football Club, Lincoln City Football Club, Heart of Midlothian Football Club, Hibernian Football Club, Newcastle United Football Club and other clubs.

Answered by Keir Mather

The amount spent by London North Eastern Railway is commercially sensitive given competition on the route. As public bodies, all DfT Operator train companies are held to Managing Public Money guidelines to ensure investment made represents value for money for the taxpayer.
