The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how much (a) in cash terms and (b) in real terms has her Department and its arms length bodies spent on developing plans and business cases for Ely and Horley Junctions.

The previous government cancelled work on the Ely Area Capacity Enhancement (EACE) and Haughley Junction upgrade at Spending Review 2021. Prior to this cancellation, the previous government provided funding to Network Rail of £16.3m to complete an Outline Business Case for EACE.
