Asked by Neil O'BrienConservativeDepartment for Work and PensionsTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 7190

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many and what proportion of Universal Credit claimants in each region had (a) no qualifications, (b) Level 2 qualifications, (c) Level 3 qualifications, (d) Level 4 qualifications, (e) Level 5 qualifications and (f) Level 6 qualifications or above in each month since January 2021.

Answered by Dame Diana Johnson

DWP does systematically collect the qualification data for all those in receipt of Universal Credit. Where data is available it is published as part of the Getting Britain Working: Labour Market Insights Publication which can be found at www.gov.uk/government/statistics/get-britain-working-labour-market-insights-april-2026 . Table 26 in the publication provides a qualification breakdown where the data is available.
