Fair Work Agency: Operating Costs

Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeDepartment for Business and TradeTabled Answered 15 June 2026UIN 7307

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, what estimate he has made of the annual operating cost of the Fair Work Agency.

Answered by Kate Dearden

As set out in the department’s Strategic Steer, the Fair Work Agency has a budget of £60.1 million in 2026/27. The budget reflects the agency’s expanding remit and the additional functions it will take on. The uplift is intended to ensure the agency is properly resourced to carry out its statutory functions from day one, with clear expectations that it will deliver value for money.
