Chinook Helicopters: Accidents

Asked by Tessa MuntLiberal DemocratForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 15 June 2026UIN 7401

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether his Department (a) currently holds and (b) previously held any documentation relating to the Chinook ZD576 which crashed on 2 June 1994.

Answered by Seema Malhotra

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office have conducted an extensive search of The National Archives' (TNA) search engine, Discovery, and their own records and have located records relating only to attendance at a funeral and a memorial service for those who died on the Chinook ZD576.

Our thoughts and sympathies remain with the families, friends, and colleagues of all those who died in the Mull of Kintyre crash.
