Citizens Advice is an independent charity funded from a range of sources.
The Department for Work and Pensions awards a grant to Citizens Advice and Citizens Advice Scotland to provide practical, tailored support to help individuals make a new claim to Universal Credit. This support offer, known as “Help to Claim”, is available to anyone, including those in North Staffordshire, and is now in its eighth year.
As part of this arrangement, the Department provides a dedicated telephone contact line, alongside oversight and assurance to ensure the service meets agreed standards and requirements.
