Asylum: Disclosure of Information
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether her Department plans to make the (a) place based visibility tool, (b) discontinuation prediction pool and (c)the data underpinning them publicly available.
Answered by Mike Tapp
The Place-Based Visibility Tool and the Discontinuation Prediction Tool are operational data tools used to support forecasting, delivery and strategic planning, and are not intended for publication.
The Place-Based Visibility Tool provides a UK, regional and local authority level view of demand to support planning across Home Office teams and partners and is used alongside local engagement and operational insight to inform planning and ensure Asylum Move On Liaison Officer (AMLO) resources are focused on areas of greatest need.
Asylum decision data is shared with local authorities through the Discontinuation Prediction Tool (DPT) to enable effective planning and to lessen the impact on homelessness and rough sleeping pressures. The DPT provides a forward look at cases likely to enter the discontinuation process. We are continually reviewing the data we share, including how we share this, to drive improvements.
