To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment she has made of the costs and benefits of introducing a unique application number for asylum applicants.

We do not consider the use of a single Unique Application Number for asylum applicants to be a viable option, and there are currently no plans to take this forward.
As you are aware, the Atlas caseworking system is now fully rolled out with continuous improvements underway and the legacy system (CID) decommissioned. Atlas integrates across a number of other government departments and organisations, including Migrant Help, the NHS, DWP and FCDO, to help drive efficiencies and a joined-up approach to caseworking and confirmation of whether asylum seekers and migrants have the right to access public services. We are working towards integrating Atlas with HMCTS in the coming months.
