Asylum: Housing

Asked by Rupert LoweRestore BritainHome OfficeTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 7716

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of proposed asylum accommodation sites on community tensions.

Answered by Alex Norris

Community cohesion is fully considered in site selection. We are prioritising models that reduce pressure on local services and deliver fairer distribution across the country. This includes working closely with the local police and wider community to identify and respond to potential tensions.
