Asked by Mr Andrew SnowdenConservativeDepartment for Culture, Media and SportTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 7827

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, how many sporting events her Department estimates may meet the framework conditions in clause 3 of the Sporting Events Bill over the next ten years.

Answered by Stephanie Peacock

In the first instance, the UK government intends to use the framework to deliver commitments for UEFA EURO 2028. It will also be used if the UK and Ireland’s bid to host the Women’s FIFA World Cup 2035 is successful, and others as we look to secure further events on our events hosting target list.
