Charities: Finance

Asked by James McMurdockIndependentDepartment for Culture, Media and SportTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 7955

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what recent discussions she has had with charitable sector representatives on the availability of grant funding for small charities.

Answered by Stephanie Peacock

DCMS Ministers regularly meet with civil society representatives, including those who advocate for small charities like the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, to discuss matters such as the availability of grant funding for small charities. In April, DCMS and HMT ministers jointly chaired a roundtable with civil society leaders to discuss the current and longer-term impacts of the Middle East crisis, where grant funding and sector sustainability were key topics.

Officials continue to regularly meet with representatives from civil society, including umbrella bodies presenting small charity interests and leaders from small charities.
