To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, whether she plans to introduce additional support for charities facing increased (a) staffing and (b) operational costs.

Charities play a crucial role in delivering important local support across the country. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport understands that organisations continue to face long-term challenges to their financial resilience and higher demand for services.
In addition to the existing tax reliefs and exemptions that charities receive, the Government’s introduction of a new VAT relief for business donations of goods will incentivise businesses to increase their donations and enable charities to provide more vital products for their beneficiaries. DCMS is also updating financial thresholds in charity law, which will save charities £47 million each year.
