Industry: Carbon Emissions

Asked by Jim ShannonDemocratic Unionist PartyDepartment for Energy Security and Net ZeroTabled Answered 17 June 2026UIN 8044

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment his Department has made of the level of adoption of low-carbon technologies in the industrial sector.

Answered by Katie White

The Carbon Budget and Growth Delivery Plan, published in October 2025, sets out how the UK will continue to reduce emissions in a way that lowers bills and secures good jobs, in line with the landmark 2008 Climate Change Act. It provides a modelled pathway to illustrate the deployment of low carbon technology in the industrial sector starting from today to the end of CB6 in 2037. We have also funded the deployment of low carbon technologies through the Industrial Energy Transformation fund, and will publish an Interim Impact Evaluation Report in due course.
