Permanent Secretaries: Pay
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether a salary of £310,000 to £314,999 a year is the new benchmark for Permanent Secretary pay.
Answered by Satvir Kaur
No. The government’s evidence to the Senior Salaries Review Body sets out that the pay range for the majority of permanent secretary roles is £155,000 to £220,000.
Details of permanent secretary salaries are published in the relevant department’s Annual Report and Accounts annually.
