Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office: LGBT+ People

Asked by Mike WoodConservativeForeign, Commonwealth and Development OfficeTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 8063

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, with reference to the Civil Service 2024/2025 External Expenditure on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion publication, updated 6 May 2026, if he will publish the LGBT+ diversity materials; what the cost was; and who the suppliers were.

Answered by Seema Malhotra

The materials in question, including t-shirts and placards, were purchased under the previous government at a cost of £383.34, to support the representation of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) at the London Pride event, held on 29 June 2024. The FCDO has been similarly represented at London Pride each year since 2022, and our overseas posts regularly take part in Pride events around the world as part of the Department's work to promote the human rights, and oppose the persecution, of LGBT+ people internationally.
