Visitor Levy
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of the overnight visitor levy on the cost of summer holidays in England.
Answered by Alison McGovern
The impacts of any levy will be determined by local decisions. It will be for Mayors to decide whether to apply a levy, and the rate at which it is set. Evidence from international comparators suggests modest rates have minimal impact on visitor numbers.
