Treasury: Buildings
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the answer of 4 June 2026, to Question 426, what is the status of the Private Finance Initiative contract with Exchequer Partnerships for the HM Treasury buildings and services at 1 Horseguards Road; how long the PFI contract has left to run; who does the property revert to at the end of the contract; and which public body is responsible for the contract.
Answered by Anna Turley
The PFI which delivers building management and services to HM Treasury at 1 Horse Guards Road is in operation until 18/11/2037. On expiry of the PFI the building freehold returns to the Government to manage and operate the building. This process will be managed through the Government Property Agency who are the public body responsible for managing the PFI as Contract Authority.
