UK Trade with EU

Asked by Alex BurghartConservativeCabinet OfficeTabled Answered 16 June 2026UIN 8159

The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, whether he plans to review his policy on re-joining the (a) EU customs union and (b) EEA single market.

Answered by Nick Thomas-Symonds

While this government remains committed to reducing barriers to trade and cutting red-tape with our largest trading partner, the government’s red lines are clear: there will be no return to the Single Market, Customs Union or freedom of movement.
