The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, pursuant to the Answer of 30 March 2026 to Question 122535, how many (a) Memorandums of Understanding and (b) non-legally binding agreements have (i) his Department and (ii) its agencies agreed with the People’s Republic of China since 4 July.

Answered by Michael Shanks

DESNZ agreed two Ministerial Memoranda of Understanding with China in 2025; one on clean energy (March 2025) and one on climate change (June 2025). No further Ministerial Memoranda of Understanding have been agreed with China since 4 July 2025. Non-legally binding agreements are not routinely published or notified to Parliament, in line with HMG policy.
