The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what her Department's budget is for ministerial travel for (a) the Government Car Service, (b) private hire vehicles, (c) taxis, (d) rail, (e) aviation and (f) other for (i) 2024-25 and (ii) 2025-26.

The department does not hold a centrally disaggregated budget for ministerial travel across all of the categories requested.
Information on travel expenditure is recorded and published in line with the government’s transparency requirements. The budget figures below are drawn from the department’s finance system for the cost centre covering Ministers, the Permanent Secretary, and Non‑Executive Directors. It is not possible to separately identify Ministerial budgets within this data.
For 2024/25, total travel-related budget recorded against this cost centre was £150,000. For 2025/26, total travel-related budget was £240,000.
All ministerial travel is undertaken in accordance with the Ministerial Code and relevant government travel policies to ensure value for money.
