Skills England: Staff

Asked by Jerome MayhewConservativeDepartment for Work and PensionsTabled Answered 19 June 2026UIN 8603

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, how many aviation sector employers, representative bodies and training providers have been formally engaged by Skills England since its establishment; and on what dates those engagements took place.

Answered by Andrew Western

Skills England engaged with a total of 23 aviation bodies (which includes aviation sector employers, representative bodies and training providers) between 5 June 2025 and 10 June 2026.

The focus of these engagements was to support the development, reform and delivery of high-quality apprenticeships and technical training. This included ensuring standards reflect employer needs, responding to sector-specific issues (e.g. pilot training pipeline), and aligning skills provision with major infrastructure expansion and workforce demand across the aviation sector.
