The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, whether his Department permits civil servants employed in the UK to work from overseas on a regular basis.

Answered by Hilary Benn

The Northern Ireland Office does not permit employees to work remotely overseas. All NIO employees are required to undertake their duties within the United Kingdom to ensure compliance with tax, security, data protection and employment law requirements.
