To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether her Department made representations to the Bank of England on changes to banknote design and imagery.

As set out in the Memorandum of Understanding between HM Treasury and the Bank of England, the Bank of England is entirely responsible for the design, production, issue and distribution of banknotes.
HM Treasury has not made representations to the Bank of England on changes to banknote design and imagery. The Bank of England informed HM Treasury of its plans on banknote design at the point of announcement.
