Large Goods Vehicles: Electric Vehicles
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate her Department has made of the average purchase price differential between a diesel heavy goods vehicle and an equivalent zero-emission heavy goods vehicle.
Answered by Keir Mather
Zero-emission heavy goods vehicles currently have significantly higher upfront costs than equivalent diesel models. To address this, the Government provides financial support to UK haulage operators through schemes such as the Zero Emission Truck Grant, which can cover up to 40% of the purchase cost for the largest vehicles.
