To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she will take steps to meet the asks of the National Farmers Union Fertiliser Resilience Plan, with specific regard to a) setting a trigger point for direct support; b) postponing and reviewing CBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism); c) creating a knowledge exchange on nutrient management; d) improving transparency in the fertiliser market.

The Government recognises the importance of fertilisers at the heart of domestic production and welcomes the views of the NFU on how the UK can be more resilient to future shocks.
It is essential that the Government takes a broad view on triggers for action in any decision making, looking holistically at both input and output prices, to reflect the full economics of production. The Government is committed to ensuring that agribusinesses and their value chains function fairly and stands ready to act swiftly and appropriately to support the domestic farming industry and food security if needed.
