Public Transport: Oxford-Cambridge Arc
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what discussions her Department has had with (a) the Department for Transport and (b) local and regional authorities on bus connectivity to East-West Rail (Bletchley to Cambridge section) in the context of the Oxford Cambridge Growth corridor.
Answered by Keir Mather
East West Rail Company is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering East West Rail, including new track, new stations, and upgrades to existing infrastructure between Bletchley-Cambridge. It has frequent engagement with local authorities and its latest proposals for door-to-door connectivity, including bus connectivity, are set out in the Spring Consultation on the project which ran from 14th April-9th June 2026.
