Armed Forces: Housing
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what steps he is taking to maximise the use of domestically manufactured building materials for the construction of service homes.
Answered by Luke Pollard
The Ministry of Defence is committed to maximising the use of domestically manufactured building materials in the construction and refurbishment of Defence family homes where this delivers value for money, supports supply chain resilience, and is compliant with procurement law.
The procurement approach of the Defence Housing Service is directly aligned with the recommendations of the Defence Housing Strategy, including its focus on “Delivering for the Nation” and a programme of “generational renewal”.
