Asked by Alex BurghartConservativeCabinet OfficeTabled Answered 23 June 2026UIN 9056

The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, further to the statement by the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister of 1 June 2026, on Lord Mandelson, what is the legal basis for the Government not recovering official government information from former Crown Servants.

Answered by Nick Thomas-Symonds

I refer the Hon Member to the Government’s statement and release of information on 1st June in response to the Humble Address, in particular the section entitled 'Government methodology in complying with the Humble Address' in the document laid before Parliament.
