Written Questions: Artificial Intelligence

Asked by Alex BurghartConservativeCabinet OfficeTabled Answered 16 July 2026UIN 9081

The question

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, with reference to the answer of 31 October 2025 to Question 84244 on Government: Artificial Intelligence, whether his Department has issued guidance to civil servants on using AI to draft answers to written Parliamentary Questions, including (a) the Parlex tool and (b) other AI tools.

Answered by Chris Ward

The use of generative AI across governments is governed by the cross-government AI Playbook for the UK Government (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/ai-playbook-for-the-uk-government), which set out the principles for the safe, responsible and effective use of these tools.
