Ajax Vehicles: Procurement

Asked by Ben Obese-JectyConservativeMinistry of DefenceTabled Answered 19 June 2026UIN 9116

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the answer of 8 June 2026, to question 4926 on Ajax Vehicles: Procurement, what criteria need to be met before the second phase of delivering an improved Ajax vehicle can begin.

Answered by Luke Pollard

Under current plans, the second phase of the Ajax programme will look to deliver a number of significant enhancements, including improvements to air filtration, crew compartment heating and the electrical power generation system. These enhancements reflect key themes identified and prioritised following Exercise Titan Storm.

In addition to these improvements, the Ministry of Defence will further strengthen its approach to safety across the programme. The Department will continue to work closely with General Dynamics to ensure the programme proceeds safely, responsibly and transparently, delivering an improved user experience for our soldiers.

I will continue to keep the House informed about developments with Ajax, as I have done since Exercise Titan Storm via Written Ministerial Statement.
