Ofwat: Equality

Asked by Mike WoodConservativeDepartment for Environment, Food and Rural AffairsTabled Answered 22 June 2026UIN 9341

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, with reference to the answer of 4 February 2026 to Question 107386 on Ofwat, for what reason that spending was not included in the Civil Service 2024/2025 External Expenditure on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, updated 6 May 2026.

Answered by Emma Hardy

Defra and its Arm’s-Length Bodies started reporting on Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) expenditure during 2025/26, having established internal processes to do so. Ofwat was not requested to report EDI spending details prior to this reporting period. Ofwat reported £4200 (exc. VAT) external EDI based expenditure for 2025/26, on 2 May 2026.
