To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, what information his Department holds on the a) industries and b) occupations in which Jobs Guarantee participants have been placed in since the commencement of Phase 1.

The Government will not leave an entire generation of young people behind. The Government is investing an additional £2.5 billion over the next three years into the Youth Guarantee and the Growth and Skills Levy. This investment will support almost one million young people and create up to 500,000 opportunities to earn and learn, including through an expanded network of Youth Hubs, earlier intensive support in Job Centres through a new Youth Guarantee Gateway, additional work experience and training opportunities, a £3,000 Youth Jobs Grant and £2,000 apprenticeship hiring payment for employers, and the Jobs Guarantee which will provide a fully funded six month job for long-term unemployed 18-24-year-olds.
Phase One of the Jobs Guarantee was launched in April 2026, with first job starts starting in May 2026. Participants have entered roles across a range of sectors and occupations, reflecting the opportunities available in areas where the scheme is currently running. To date this includes industries such as manufacturing, construction and the third sector.
DWP will collect data on the jobs participants move into and their employers, including the sector in which they work and will continue to monitor the types of jobs participants enter as the scheme progresses.
