The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, further to the written statement on the UK-EU Competition Cooperation Agreement, of 25 February 2026, HCWS1364, whether (a) payments and (b) payments in kind will be made to the EU as a result of that agreement.

The UK will not make any financial contributions to the European Union as a result of the UK-EU Competition Cooperation Agreement. The Agreement which will be operationalised by the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), facilitates enhanced dialogue and operational cooperation between the CMA, the European Commission and the National Competition Authorities of EU Member States. This will support the effective enforcement of competition law in cases affecting UK markets, benefiting UK businesses and consumers.
