Department for Business and Trade: Flexible Working
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, how many and what proportion of full-time staff on full pay (1.0 FTE) in his Department work compressed hours over a four day week.
Answered by Kate Dearden
There is no central record of how many full-time staff who work compressed hours in DBT. Compressed hours is a type of flexible working. All staff in DBT are entitled to request flexible working arrangement under the terms of our Flexible Working Policy. This is agreed between line managers and individual employees, subject to business needs, and it does not require departmental approval or reporting.
