Department for Business and Trade: Regulation

Asked by Mike WoodConservativeDepartment for Business and TradeTabled Answered 22 June 2026UIN 9604

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, with reference to the Regulatory Policy Committee's document Post-implementation reviews outstanding across government 2015 to 2026, updated 12 May 2026, what steps his Department is taking to (a) undertake and (b) publish each the outstanding post-implementation reviews identified by the Committee.

Answered by Blair McDougall

The Department is committed to meeting its obligation to evaluate regulations after they have been implemented, including to ensure they are achieving their objectives, remain necessary, and are having the intended effects.

Where the Regulatory Policy Committee has identified post‑implementation reviews that remain outstanding, the department is working to complete and publish these as quickly as possible.
