Eden Project: Morecambe

Asked by Sir James CleverlyConservativeMinistry of Housing, Communities and Local GovernmentTabled Answered 23 June 2026UIN 9579

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, further to the answer of 25 February 2025, to Question 33500, on Eden Project: Morecambe, what assessment has been made by the his Department of whether the Eden Project North is able to provide its side of the matched funding, and from which sources.

Answered by Nesil Caliskan

An assessment of match funding was undertaken as part of the original business case. We remain in regular contact with the council, who keep the Department updated on the latest developments, including progress on the project’s funding position. However, given the commercially sensitive nature of the match funding arrangements, including the sources involved, it would not be appropriate to provide further detail at this stage.
