Integrated Care Boards

Asked by Rachael MaskellLabour (Co-op)Department of Health and Social CareTabled Answered 22 June 2026UIN 9635

The question

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps he is taking to assess the performance of ICBs.

Answered by Karin Smyth

The NHS Oversight Framework provides a consistent and transparent approach to assessing National Health Service organisations. The framework for 2026/27 is designed to drive medium-term system transformation while maintaining operational performance tracking, and introduces integrated care board (ICB) delivery segmentation, which is a data‑driven classification based on ICBs’ performance against national metrics.
