Pakistan: Ahmadiyya
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether she has had discussions with her counterpart in Pakistan on the (a) investigation into the shooting outside Bait-ul-Aqsa mosque in Rabwah and (b) protection of Ahmadiyya Muslim places of worship.
Answered by Mr Hamish Falconer
Further to the answer provided on 29 October 2025 to Question 83844, we remain concerned by reports of violence and discrimination affecting Ahmadi Muslims in Pakistan, and we regularly raise the rights and safety of religious minorities with the Government of Pakistan at senior levels. During my visit to Pakistan in June 2026, I met with Law and Human Rights Minister Tarar to discuss a broad range of human rights issues and heard from a number of civil society actors about the biggest challenges in Pakistan's human rights landscape.
