Civil Disorder: Belfast
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what discussions he has had with the Irish Government about the violence and disorder that took place in Belfast in June 2026.
Answered by Hilary Benn
Following the disorder I spoke with the Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs Helen McEntee on the evening of 9 June and the Irish Justice Minister Jim O’Callaghan on the evening of 10 June. I regularly engage with Irish Government Ministers on a variety of issues of shared concern and will continue to do so.
