Active Travel: Finance
The question
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether local transport authorities will be expected to deliver the targets and commitments set out in the Third Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy if they choose to allocate their devolved transport funding to other transport priorities.
Answered by Lilian Greenwood
The Third Cycling and Walking Investment Strategy does not set out local transport authority targets or commitments. Local transport authorities will be supported by Active Travel England to deliver their local active travel ambitions and to develop and deliver phased, funded active travel network plans in line with the Government’s devolution agenda.
