Prime Minister: Diaries
The question
To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, pursuant to the answer of 29 May 2026, to Question 2767, on Prime Minister: Diaries, whether the (a) No10 Freedom of Information team and (b) the Cabinet Office Freedom of Information policy team, now deem that party political events held in Ministerial diaries are held information for the purposes of the Freedom of Information requests further to the ICO Decision Notice of 29 January 2026.
Answered by Chris Ward
Whether or not a public authority holds information for the purposes of Section 3(2) of the Freedom of Information Act is assessed on a case-by-case basis. This is considered with reference to the Code of Practice issued under section 45 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and the guidance published by the Information Commissioner. This has been the practice under successive governments.
