European Union: Disclosure of Information
The question
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, if she will make it her policy as part of the negotiations on the EU/UK reset, to ensure that UK citizens can submit access to information requests to EU institutions in relation to EU programmes where the UK taxpayer is contributing to those programmes.
Answered by Lucy Rigby
The terms of UK association to EU programmes are provided for under Part V of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA), which was negotiated and agreed in 2020. Information requests to EU institutions from UK citizens regarding an EU programme in which the UK participates would be a matter for the EU.
